Used as oxidant and mordant in dyestuff industry, catalyst and oxidant in organic synthesis industry. It is also a corrosive agent in photography and printing and in the manufacture of other iron salts, pigments, inks, and medicines. It can also be used as a condensation agent for free radical polymerization, polymerization inhibitor and chlorination of silver and copper. The incorporation of its solution into building concrete can increase the strength of buildings, corrosion resistance and prevent water seepage. Drinking water and wastewater treatment are also used.
